What data leaves the room
Exactly what Pleneo send to the cloud, and what never leaves the room.
Overview
Sensitive content: everything said and shown in a meeting stays in the room. The Pleneo hub processes all audio, media, and AI locally. No audio, media, or meeting content is ever sent to the cloud, only monitoring data and analytics.
This page sets out exactly what stays local and what goes to Pleneo Cloud, so you can review it against your own data policies.
What never leaves the room
The following are processed entirely on Pleneo hub and are never sent to the cloud:
Meeting audio and video
Any spoken or shared content
Microphone and camera streams
All AI audio processing
Even when a room is managed through Pleneo Cloud, this content stays on Pleneo hub. It is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted off the device.
What is sent to Pleneo Cloud
When a room is managed through Pleneo Cloud, only operational data is sent, never meeting content:
Device health and status
System monitoring information
Usage analytics (for example, whether a room is in use, not what is discussed)
This is the information that lets IT manage and monitor rooms remotely. It contains no audio, video, or meeting content.
Where the data is handled
Pleneo Cloud is hosted on Microsoft Azure, under Pleneo's SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 certifications.
If you don't use the cloud
Pleneo rooms work fully without any cloud connection. When a room is run locally, nothing is sent off the device; all setup, tuning, and operation happen on-site. This works for secure, restricted, or air-gapped environments.
