RoomHub status light and reset button
What RoomHub's status light colours mean, and how to use the reset button.
Overview
RoomHub has a front-facing status light that shows the device's current state and a recessed reset button for reboots and resets. This page explains both.
Status light
The status light shows what RoomHub is doing at a glance:
Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
Solid white | System online, operating normally on the local network |
Solid cyan | System online, connected to Pleneo Cloud |
Slow white blink | Powering on and initialising |
Slow yellow blink | No network detected. Check the cable or switch port |
Fast yellow blink | Connected, but no IP address (DHCP unreachable). RoomHub falls back to a link-local address (169.254.x.x) and keeps working |
Slow blue blink | Firmware update in progress. Do not power off or disconnect |
Slow red blink | Needs attention, for example, high temperature |
Solid red | System fault. Check diagnostics or contact Pleneo Support |
Reset button
The reset button is recessed; use a pin or paperclip to press it. The action depends on how long you hold it, and the status light shows which action is pending while you hold. Release before the time is up to cancel.
Hold time | Action | Light while holding | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
2 to 6 seconds | Reboot | Fast white blink | Restarts RoomHub. No settings are changed |
7 to 14 seconds | Network reset | Fast green blink | Clears the static IP and reverts to DHCP. All other settings are kept |
15+ seconds | Factory reset | Fast red blink | Resets everything, all configuration, logs, and the Pleneo Cloud link |
A press under 1 second does nothing, to prevent accidental activation. The button is disabled during a firmware update.
Note: a factory reset clears everything on the device, including all configuration, logs, and the Pleneo Cloud link. The room will need to be set up again from scratch. Use the network reset instead if you only need to clear a static IP.
In summary
The status light shows RoomHub's state: white or cyan for normal operation, yellow for network issues, blue for updates, red for faults
Reboot with a 2 to 6 second press, reset the network with 7 to 14 seconds, or factory reset with 15+ seconds
A factory reset erases all settings; the network reset clears only the static IP
Release the button before the time is up to cancel
