Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
1. Introduction
Pleneo is committed to conducting business responsibly, ethically and with respect for internationally recognised human rights. We do not tolerate slavery, forced or compulsory labour, human trafficking, child labour, servitude or other forms of worker exploitation within our business or supply chain.
This statement describes our approach to identifying, assessing and managing modern slavery and human trafficking risks within our operations and supply chain.
2. Our Business and Supply Chain
Pleneo designs and supplies professional technology products, software and related services to customers and distribution partners internationally.
Our supply chain includes manufacturers and suppliers of electronic products, components, printed circuit assemblies, mechanical parts, cables, packaging and related materials, together with logistics and other service providers.
We recognise that electronics manufacturing and international supply chains may involve jurisdictions and industries where labour and human-rights risks can arise. We therefore maintain controls intended to identify and manage these risks within our direct supply chain.
3. Our Standards
Pleneo expects its employees, contractors, manufacturers and suppliers to respect applicable labour, employment and human-rights laws.
In particular, we do not knowingly accept:
forced, bonded, indentured or involuntary labour
slavery, servitude or human trafficking
unlawful child labour
recruitment practices requiring workers to surrender passports or other identity documents
unreasonable restrictions on workers' freedom of movement
recruitment fees or other practices that may create debt bondage
coercion, threats, physical punishment or other abusive employment practices
employment practices that violate applicable laws concerning wages, working hours, workplace safety or freedom of employment
Workers within our supply chain should be employed voluntarily and should be free to leave employment in accordance with applicable law and contractual notice requirements.
4. Supplier Due Diligence
Pleneo undertakes due diligence in relation to its primary direct suppliers and manufacturing partners.
Our supplier assessment and monitoring activities may include review of:
labour and employment practices
forced-labour and human-trafficking controls
workplace health and safety
factory cleanliness and working conditions
environmental management and compliance
manufacturing quality and operational controls
employee welfare and workplace practices
relevant external certifications, audits and compliance documentation
We expect our primary suppliers to maintain appropriate systems and controls and, where relevant, to hold recognised third-party certifications, assessments or audit reports relating to their operations.
5. Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Pleneo conducts regular audits and reviews of its primary direct suppliers. The frequency and scope of these audits may vary according to the nature of the supplier relationship, the activities being performed and the risks identified.
These audits may include on-site inspection and review of manufacturing environments, working conditions, labour practices, environmental and safety controls, cleanliness, operational practices and indicators of forced or involuntary labour.
Where appropriate, we also review external audit reports, certifications and other independent evidence relating to supplier compliance and operating standards.
Pleneo's direct audit programme principally applies to suppliers and manufacturers with whom we have a direct contractual relationship. We do not routinely audit organisations further upstream in the supply chain where we do not have a direct contractual relationship.
However, we expect our direct suppliers to maintain appropriate oversight of their own supply chains and to take reasonable measures to prevent modern slavery, forced labour and other serious labour-rights abuses within those supply chains.
6. Supplier Compliance and Corrective Action
Suppliers are expected to comply with the labour and human-rights legislation applicable in the countries in which they operate and to maintain appropriate controls against forced labour, human trafficking and unlawful child labour.
Where an audit, review or other information identifies a concern, Pleneo may require further information, corrective action or remediation from the supplier.
Depending on the seriousness of the issue and the supplier's response, Pleneo may increase monitoring, require corrective measures, suspend purchasing activity or terminate the supplier relationship.
Pleneo will not knowingly source products or materials produced using forced labour.
7. External Standards and Certification
We expect our primary manufacturing partners to maintain appropriate external certifications, audits and management systems relevant to their operations.
Depending on the nature of the supplier and its activities, these may address areas such as quality management, environmental management, workplace health and safety, regulatory compliance and responsible manufacturing practices.
External certifications and third-party audits supplement, rather than replace, Pleneo's own supplier oversight and monitoring activities.
8. Reporting Concerns and Accountability
Employees, contractors, suppliers and other business partners are encouraged to raise concerns where they become aware of suspected modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking or other serious labour-rights abuses connected with Pleneo's business or supply chain.
Reports will be considered seriously and may result in investigation, supplier escalation, corrective action or termination of a business relationship where appropriate.
No person should suffer retaliation for raising a genuine concern in good faith.
9. Training and Awareness
Personnel involved in procurement, operations, manufacturing and supplier management are expected to remain alert to labour, workplace and human-rights risks when selecting, reviewing and managing suppliers.
Our supplier-management processes are intended to ensure that working conditions, safety, environmental standards and labour practices form part of the broader assessment of supplier suitability and performance.
10. Continuous Improvement
Pleneo periodically reviews its supply-chain controls, supplier requirements and audit processes to ensure that they remain appropriate and effective.
Where risks or deficiencies are identified, we seek to strengthen controls, improve supplier practices and implement corrective measures where necessary.
11. Whistleblowing
Whistleblowers with concerns around Pleneo suppliers in relation to breaches of this policy may contact Pleneo Customer Relations directly, without fear of retribution, where the matter will be escalated directly to the CEO. All information provided will be treated anonymously and held in the strictest confidence.
