Replacing Speakers, Microphones or Cameras

Swap a faulty device and the room restores its settings automatically.

Overview

If a speaker, microphone, or PTZ camera in a Pleneo Room needs to be replaced, the process follows the same workflow used for other Pleneo devices.

When using Pleneo Cloud, you'll be notified automatically if a device reports an issue. If your organization has integrated the Pleneo Cloud API with a ticketing system, a replacement task can be created automatically.

Device replacements can be done in two ways:

  • Cloud Replacement using Pleneo Cloud

  • Local Replacement using AI AutoDeploy™

———————————————————————————————————————————————

Replace via Pleneo Cloud

When using Pleneo Cloud, replacing a defective speaker, microphone, or camera takes just a few minutes.

  1. Log in to Pleneo Cloud and open the room containing the faulty device.

  2. Select the device and choose Replace

  3. Enter the MAC address of the replacement unit — either a spare on-site or a new device being installed.

Once the replacement device is connected to the network and RoomHub has internet access, the system automatically re-runs AI AutoDeploy™, which restores routing, control logic, and tuning, depending on whether it's a camera, microphone, or speaker.

The room is back online within minutes, fully configured and ready to use, with no manual setup required.

Local replacement

If you're not using Pleneo Cloud, devices can still be replaced locally.

  1. Bring the replacement speaker, microphone, or camera to the site.

  2. Install and connect the device.

  3. Open the RoomHub embedded web interface.

  4. Re-assign the device to the room.

  5. Run AI AutoDeploy™ to rediscover devices, configure routing, and retune the room.

This restores full system performance completely offline.

When to use each method

  • Cloud Replacement — requires internet; automatically restores device configuration and tuning; best for managed or large-scale deployments

  • Local Replacement — works offline; rebuilds configuration and tuning via AI AutoDeploy™; best for offline or secure environments

Result

Whether you’re replacing a speaker, microphone, or camera, devices can be brought back online quickly — online through Pleneo Cloud, or offline with AI AutoDeploy™.
